"As Christians, we believe that the most important thing you can do is accept God's free gift of salvation and eternal life. It is our hope for tomorrow, the promise that God in Christ has died to spare us from hell, and risen from the dead to give us new life.

What is it all about?

First, it is important for us to know that God loves each of us and has a plan for our lives that reflects his love for us. Each of us is valued by God as part of His creation. God wants only His very best for us.

Second, we need to know that we sin - we do wrong things in God's sight. Because of this, we are separated from God and cannot fully know or experience God's love and plan for us. We are generally stubborn people, and we go our own way rather than trusting God. When we do this, we are greatly separated from God and cannot have real fellowship with Him.

Third, the good news in all of this is that Jesus Christ is God's only provision for dealing with our sin. Only in Jesus can we really experience God's love and plan for us. Jesus died in our place. He rose from the dead so that we could have new life. He is the only way to God. the Bible makes it plain: "I am the way, and the truth, and the life," said Jesus. "No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). Jesus is the bridge across the chasm of sin that separates us from God.

Fourth, God invites us to receive Jesus Christ as Saviour (the One who pays for our sin) and Lord (the Leader of our lives), so that we can know and experience God's love and plan for us. What that means is inviting Jesus, by talking to Him through prayer, to come into our lives. It means giving God charge over our lives, acknowledging that He is on the throne of our lives, rather than we ourselves. When we invite Jesus into our lives, He instantly forgives the wrong things we have done, grants us eternal life in heaven with Him when we die, and becomes a present friend.

This doesn't all happen in a vacuum. It is important to remember that we can be strengthened and encouraged in our walk with God by participating in the life of the church. At St. Andrew's, we do not think we have a monopoly on the presence of God. But we do believe that worship needs to be a central part of the life of every Christian person. That is why we offer worship and ministry opportunities regularly, so that all of us can grow together. Just as it is easier to carry out a regimen of physical exercise when it is done with others, it is also easier to exercise spiritually in the company of others. That is the church - a body of believers, worshipping God and growing together."
